Why Are You Here?

Welcome to the Wench's World--the Wolverine State Brewing Company (A2) Beer Wench to be exact. If you've stumbled upon me, cool. If you've entered through the Wolverinbeer.com site, be warned! This is where the part owner/marketing and sales director of a craft microborewery Has Her Say! It may or may not be directly related to the company but it sure will be fun and many times profane as the circumstances warrant! Enjoy (or not) at your own risk!

In the Brewer's Words....

Here he is ladies and gents....Oliver Roberts...describing some our new and upcoming brews!

Big House Brown is back!  This year our BHB is exactly where we have been trying to get for the last two years, it sits at a modest 3.8% abv and is packed with flavor!  The only difference you'll notice is the in the hop aroma which is strikingly poignant and smells of fresh green fields. This wonderful aroma is followed by the subtle yet distinguishable malt flavors of 10 different malts. Splashes of roast, chocolate, mild caramel, and a balanced hop bitterness for this light-bodied, brown session lager make the perfect craft beer for football Saturday.

We are so proud of our Oktoberfest because somehow we manage to lager it for 5 months! Even though we are already short on storage space, this long cold-conditioning gives this festive Amber lager its distinctive smoothness and clean lager character.  Our version of Oktoberfest is made with American malts but hopped with noble German varieties and fermented with a German lager yeast.  It has been truly worth waiting for and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. Prost!

 The Massacre is upon us...

This lager is like nothing any of us here at Wolverine State Brewing Co. has ever experienced. It was originally brewed in the first days of 2012 in early January. After two months in a long and cold fermentation it then spent four whole months in Rye Bourbon Barrels.  One of those months was spend at warmer temperatures helping this Imperial Dark Lager absorb and blend with the flavors from the wood barrels, then it spent 3 months in our near-freezing cellar room still in the barrels lagering and continuously melding with the bourbon soaked wood. Once more we moved the beer out of the barrels and into one of our stainless-steel lagering tanks for 45 days. And now its bottled and waiting for 10.11.12 when it can be released to world and begin to change peoples interpretations of what "lager" really means because the days of "lager" meaning "light"...are over.

And there you have it! In His Own Words....
Oh and check this out....spotted at the Cranbrook Whole Foods this weekend...
