Why Are You Here?

Welcome to the Wench's World--the Wolverine State Brewing Company (A2) Beer Wench to be exact. If you've stumbled upon me, cool. If you've entered through the Wolverinbeer.com site, be warned! This is where the part owner/marketing and sales director of a craft microborewery Has Her Say! It may or may not be directly related to the company but it sure will be fun and many times profane as the circumstances warrant! Enjoy (or not) at your own risk!

Summer Time...and The Beers Taste...Really Good

New on tap:

The Michigan Brewer's Guild 15th Anniversary Ale Lager!

Michigan Brewer’s Guild
15th Anniversary Brew
7.5 abv -- 75 IBU’s
Hoppy Red Lager

-Michigan’s thriving brewing industry conservatively contributes well over $24 million in wages with a economic contribution well over $133 million. In terms of overall number breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs,

-Michigan ranks #5 in the nation – thus supporting its claim as “The Great Beer State.”

-Founded in 1997 and celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2012, the Michigan Brewers Guild exists to unify the community of brewers, to increase the sale of Michigan Craft Beer, to contribute culturally and economically throughout the state, and to monitor and assure a healthy brewing industry.

-By working collaboratively with proponents of craft beer, the organization strives to achieve 10% share of all beer sold in Michigan by producing world-class events, increasing public awareness, educating consumers, and encouraging responsible consumption.

The recipe for this beer was provided by the Guild president and was designed as a Double IPA or Strong Pale Ale. Ha Ha! As we make lagers and have our own Revolution to support we tailored the brew to suit our customers and our own pallets as well. Our version has a little less alcohol and few less IBU’s but is nice and big all the same!  Its made with a big malt bill including Pale Ale malt, Wheat, Vienna, dark Crystal malt, and is made with mostly Cascade hops giving it a nice big citrusy aroma and flavor with a sturdy, complex malt backbone to support the 75 IBU’s.

Verano--(Spanish for "summer") Try it with a lime slice!

Verano is our interpretation of a Mexican Amber Lager. There is no real style for this beer but it was born from European brewers in Central and South America after WWII. It takes the traditional Vienna-style lager and keeps the same color but drastically reduces the flavor profile by using rice, corn, and less hops. By using a lager yeast from the region it gives a crisp, sharp, clean lager character with a hint of toasty malt character.

It's HOT outside! Join us in the Tap Room for a cold brew!
